It shouldn’t be too much of a surprise to find out that the guy behind Girls Gone Wild is a jerk. It is surprising to find out just how much of a jerk he is: Joe Francis, the founder of the Girls Gone Wild empire, is humiliating me. He has my face pressed against the hood of a car, my arms twisted hard behind my back. He’s pushing himself against me, shouting: “This is what they did to me in Panama City!” It’s after 3 a.m. and we’re in a parking lot on the outskirts of Chicago. Electronic music is buzzing from the nightclub across the street, mixing easily with the laughter of the guys who are watching this, this me-pinned-and-helpless thing. Francis isn’t laughing. He has turned on me, and I don’t know why. Burnout makes me happy. Crashing and exploding. Instant gratification. I am happy. BURNOUT! Burnout PsP was a blast (sorry, bad pun) @ e3 as well!
ReplyDeleteI have been playing through Burnout 3 and continuously impressed with the level of polish on it. The way that the awards are structured is just fantastic and addicting, though there are times I am just "okay, okay, fine! I got another car, and another, and another, and a new event... Great! Can I get back to the damned game when you're done with this PARADE?!"
ReplyDeleteI think the only thing that doesn't excite me about Burnout Revenge is the applause track that plays during particularly spectacular crashes. Hopefully, there will be an option to turn this off (much like the annoying EA DJ in Burnout 3). Other than that, this game looks AWESOME!
