“Our legendary personalities are evergreen ‘brands’ with the benefit of worldwide recognition,” reads a message on the Richman agency’s website. Guardian UK Article *vomits* Where is the line drawn between “public figure” and “celebrity”? How can a dead person have an agent, particulary where there are no specific works concerned other than a sense of character? It’s one thing to insist that Duck Soup is a work that should be protected (which any more simply means controlled by whomever has the most buX0rs), but shouldn’t personalities and such pass into the public domain as well? ( boingboing : Bill Gates 0wns Einstein, Groucho , Freud, Asimov, Fuller, et al )
A tad lengthy... but that seriously kicked ass. Makes me pine for some early phantasy star.... sniff.
ReplyDeleteThat was pretty much my reaction as well. "That's really smart! ...But long!"
ReplyDeleteI especially liked the NPCs saying the same stuff; you keep hoping there will be something new. I am getting the same thing going on in Dead Rising right now; I keep trying to hit Jessica up for a date, but she's only got the one line response.
I have not played Dead Rising, but I've watched it plenty and I can imagine what you're referring to.
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of tracking games played, you should add your XBL tag widget to the right side. Unless there's an anonymity issue, of course...
You're right. I'll do it either here or in my LJ's userinfo. Thanks for the reminder.
ReplyDeleteIf you figure out how to put it in your userinfo, let me know. I put it in the Bio section and it failed to appear - I think LJ doesn't want to allow the iframe tag.
ReplyDeleteIn the LiveJournal community "gamers" there are some people who have managed this pretty handily through a separate service: MyGamerCard.net - I have updated mine accordingly.
