Cory Doctorow's new book is available. Eastern Standard Tribe, like Down and Out in the Magic Kingdom, is available in dead tree for a fee, or electronically for the price of the electrons on which it's printed. I've downloaded it, and am working to suss out Plucker, which may be the replacement for Palm Reader, since I can't seem to find where the free flavor of it has run off to. Wait. There it is.

It shouldn’t be too much of a surprise to find out that the guy behind Girls Gone Wild is a jerk. It is surprising to find out just how much of a jerk he is: Joe Francis, the founder of the Girls Gone Wild empire, is humiliating me. He has my face pressed against the hood of a car, my arms twisted hard behind my back. He’s pushing himself against me, shouting: “This is what they did to me in Panama City!” It’s after 3 a.m. and we’re in a parking lot on the outskirts of Chicago.
