how to get ahead in the fast paced world of game development

A conference on How to Break Into Videogames will be held in Maryland. Hopefully the first bit of advice will be "Don't be in Maryland." Looking at their list of speakers, I see a majority of Texas companies, a couple speakers from Korea's NCSoft, and a representative from the supposedly defunct Origin Systems (EA). Color me boggled.
